Warranty, Shipping and Returns

Our Warranty

Nirvana Kayaks provides a limited (1) one years manufacturer’s warranty for defects on all new kayak and kayak accessories purchases and (1) one year on attached parts. 

This warranty covers only Nirvana Kayaks products that are purchased from an authorized Nirvana Kayaks dealer. 

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and may not be transferred. Proof of purchase must be presented at the time of the warranty claim. 

Normal wear and tear is not warranted. 

If the kayak has been altered in any shape or form, warranty can be void to Nirvana Kayaks discretion.

What is not covered under warranty

This warranty only covers manufacturing defects that affect the performance of the product. This warranty does not cover kayaks sold in “as is” condition, demo kayaks or prototypes.

This warranty does not cover any damage that may be a result of:

  • Normal wear and tear (including scuppers)
  • Rolling or flipping the kayak
  • Heat, extreme weather or environmental conditions
  • Excessive exposure to sunlight
  • Unauthorized modification or repairs including hollowing out the center console
  • Accident, neglect, improper use or handling
  • Improper storage, maintenance or care
  • Use in commercial, rental or teaching environments
  • Sharp objects or dragging over rough surfaces
  • Being towed by power or sail boats
  • Scupper carts, stake out poles, or other objects placed in scupper holes
This warranty does not cover cosmetic defects such as surface pitting, color variations or minor weld marks.

Shipping

Kayaks require special handling and therefore cost (A LOT) more to ship than most items. We cover most of the freight cost to keep your shipping rate as low as possible (only on qualified items). Kayak and shipping is only to the lower 48 states (sorry, HI & AK).

Kayak orders can take up to 10 business days to be delivered.

Kayak shipping damage

 Upon delivery, unwrap your kayak and thoroughly inspect for damage.

If you find major damage; such as holes or deep gouges, have the carrier document in writing a detailed description of the damages before signing anything, take pictures, return damaged kayak to the driver, and contact us immediately.

If you find minor damage; such as minor scratches, dings and dents, note the damage on the Bill of Lading, take pictures and accept the shipment. You can contact us with any questions.

If the product is signed for without damage being reported or if the driver leaves the property without the damage being reported, Nirvana Kayaks won't be able to replace it. You will have to pay return freight charges (which ranges from $185 - $390) in order to get a replacement or accept the kayak as is.

Returns

New items are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of purchase. It is your responsibility to pay the return shipping fees that might be associated with returning the product. Items must be in a new condition and not show any use or wear.

Once a kayak or any accessory has been used the sale is final.

Depending on the condition of the returned kayak, there may be a restocking fee. Kayak return freight cost ranges from $225 - $460.
